Welcome to my website!

I am a mom of three school-aged kids, and like most moms out there, my kids can be picky eaters at times. What they will bring to school for lunch is what I worry about every single day.  I never did let my  two younger kids  buy cafeteria food (one is in grade school, one in middle school ), not that  I think that it's not good for them,  but rather  because we  are Asians and we are used to having rice for lunch and dinner (sometimes even during breakfast!). Lunch and dinner is NEVER lunch or dinner if there is no rice.  To us,  it is just a snack.  It's another story for my eldest because he thinks it's "NOT COOL" anymore for him to bring lunch since he is already in high school).

I have noticed that if I pack lunch for my girls having rice in one container, and the main dish or viand as we call it in the other, they eat very little of it. So this school year, I started what i'm calling BENTO-ING, that is, packing a bento lunch for my girls, and it seems effective, they're eating more now, and they love the way I present it. I admit I am new at this, but I love preparing these  for my girls every morning.

So now I am here to share ideas, recipes and techniques with you, so that together we can create  healthy, delicious and beautiful looking  lunches  for our kids.
